Have you ever heard about Cultural Festival? What about Gamarvani, have you ever heard that? Now, I want to tell you.

What is Gamarvani?

Gamarvani is the name of cultural festival of West Java that held by SMAN 3 Bandung. It was hold on September the 19^th 2015, at the Bali fields ( at Bali street). The name “Gamarvani” is taken from Sanskerta language, Gama and Parvani that means journey to the moon . With the traditional(folks) story of Nyi Anteh, a woman who stay at the moon.

The story begins at the Pakuan Kingdom. There’re two beautiful girls, Anteh the maid and Endahwarni the princess, that lived peacefully at the kingdom. One day, The King of Pakuan invited a prince, Anantakusuma to discuss about his marriage with Endahwarni. But unfortunately, the prince fell in love at the first sight with Anteh. Endahwarni knew about that, and she felt very angry and very jealous to Anteh, then she ordered Anteh to leave the castle that time. Anteh felt sad, she left the castle and stayed at her mother’s hometown. Year passed, Anteh married and have a cute son. She felt very happy with her new life. Endahwarni married with Anantakusuma, and she lived happily with her family. Time passed by, Endahwarni regret her mistake, and feel very guilty to Anteh. She visited Anteh to say sorry and asked Anteh to come back to the castle and live there like before. So, Anteh and her family stayed at the castle

. After back to the castle, Anteh appointed to be the tailor of the kingdom, live with a house near the castle garden. Everyone felt happy to see Anteh at the castle again, include Anantakusuma. Even though he already married with Endahwarni, his love to Anteh never extinguished. One day, Anantakusuma found Anteh only with her cat, Candramawat at her house. Anantakusuma approached her, and told his feeling. Anteh was very shocked, and try her best to tell Anantakusuma that he already has a wife, and it was impossible for them. Anantakusuma very stubborn, didn’t want to hear Anteh and forced him. Anteh was afraid of him, and then prayed to God to release her from Anantakusuma. God answered her wish and suddenly, a mysterious power drawned Anteh and Candramat the cat to the moon. After that, Anteh and Candramawat stayed at the moon and never come back.

The Cultural Festival “Gamarvani” inspirited by the story above. It’s not only about entertain the people who came to Gamarvani, but also invited them to remember and preserve the culture of West Java. Gamarvani presented many kind of West java culture liketraditional music, traditional games, foods, and talented musician and performers to filled the event. You’ll regret it when you didn’t come to see how interesting it is.

The gate was open at 9.30 am for people who want to visit Gamarvani. After exchange the ticket, first they must enter the security booth, to do the body check and the others. After that, they could enter Gamarvani. There were many kinds of food that sold in Gamarvani. Most of them are the popular food and the most delicious food in Bandung. Not only the modern food, but also the traditional food such as cakue, cimol, and other else. With performances from LSS 3, Manggala Awi, Pencak Silat, and the others, you could enjoy your morning time at Gamarvani.

You don’t need to worry, the committee has provided seats for you to seat, so you can enjoy the event better. For the moslem, the committee has already provided mushola. At the afternoon, the atmosphere was funner, with the performances from KV 3, KPA 3, ParaHyena, and RMHR.

It was very crowded so you need to be careful while you were walking. It was also hard to find someone that time, because too many people there. So, it would be better for you to not separated from your friends. The situation became more and more crowded, and of course more interesting. At 15.05 you will accompanied by the performances from Tiloe’s Theater that showed you a theater about Nyi Anteh. Don’t forget with the other performaces from MK 3, and Wayang Golek Giriharja that showed us interesting performances. After 30 minutes break for Shalat and guest star preparation, you must prepare yourself to watch the first Guest Star. Adera, the soloist singer from Indonesia invited you to sing along with his songs, and bring you dissolve in every lyric. All of the people was very enthusiastic. Also interesting performaces by The Colaboration of Extracurricular, played traditional songs with unique ways, amaze us with song by song that they played.

And it was the cumination of Gamarvani. Hivi! Enliven the event with their romantic songs, re-invite the people to sing along, enliven the atmosphere with sounds of thousand people that sang together. They jumped, waving their hands, and sang cheerfully. At the end, the fireworks burst and it was the end of the spectacular night at Gamarvani.

It will be the most memorable event that you won’t foget, and I’m sure that you enjoyed every seconds you passed at Gamarvani.
